According to the ancient traditions of Ayurveda, Vastu Shastra, and Feng Shui, our environment is not neutral: it breathes with us, affects our mental state, and can nourish—or deplete—our inner balance

What is Vastu Shastra?

Vastu Shastra is the Vedic science of space design, an ancient discipline born in India that studies how the architecture, orientation, form, and elements of the home influence the life energy (prana) of those who inhabit it. Just like Feng Shui in the Chinese tradition, Vastu seeks to harmonize spaces with the forces of nature to promote health, prosperity and inner peace.

Both traditions agree on one essential thing: when the environment is in balance, the mind can be in balance.

Order as the first gesture of love

In both Vastu and Feng Shui, the external order reflects the internal order. A clear, clean and harmonious space allows vital energy (Prana or Chi) to flow freely. In Ayurveda, this principle also applies to the body: what is clogged cannot be digested or transformed.

Before adding subtle elements, the first step is to release the unnecessary. Every object has a vibration, and chaotic environments generate mental confusion, emotional turmoil, and feelings of fatigue. Order, on the other hand, is a silent form of self-care.

Light: fire that transforms

Light is an ancestral language. In Vastu and Feng Shui, it is considered a source of clarity, energy, and purification. Natural light is the most powerful, but when the sun goes down, the flame of a candle can serve that same symbolic function: invoking clarity, warmth, and presence.

Lighting a candle is not just an aesthetic gesture: it is an act of intention. In Ayurveda, fire (Agni) represents digestive intelligence, transformation, and awakened awareness. A lit candle can be a gentle reminder of the sacred.

Aroma as a subtle food

Smell is the only sense that goes directly to the limbic system, where emotions and memories are managed. In all ancient traditions, natural scents have been used to uplift, harmonize, or soothe the spirit.

In Feng Shui, pleasant smells activate Chi and bring joy and fluidity. In Ayurveda, the scents work on the manas (mind-heart), helping to balance the doshas and calm the subtle channels.

Our candles: light, aroma and balance

At Jeevan Ayurveda we have created a collection of handmade candles made with 100% soy wax, inspired by these traditions. Each one is designed to harmonize spaces, soothe the senses and connect with your interior:

Velvet Peony Candle: softness, tenderness and beauty. Ideal for balancing the emotional fire and creating an intimate refuge.

Sweet Violet Candle: intuition, recollection and mental clarity.
