Micellar Water: Cosmetic Innovation or an Old Concept with a New Name?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Micellar water has become one of the flagship products of modern cosmetics. It is presented as a gentle, practical, and advanced way to cleanse the skin.<\/p>\n

But what exactly is micellar water?<\/p>\n

The answer is much simpler than it seems.<\/p>\n

Micellar water is essentially water with mild cleansing agents. When these come into contact with water, they form tiny structures called micelles, capable of trapping oil, makeup, and impurities.<\/p>\n

There is no magic. There is chemistry. And that chemistry is not new.<\/p>\n

Long before micellar water existed, our grandmothers were already washing their faces with water and mild soap, followed by rinsing. Without knowing the term “micelle,” they were applying a cleansing principle that remains valid today.<\/p>\n

Because every time we mix water and a mild soap on the skin, micelles are formed. In other words, we are creating a micellar solution at the very moment of washing, without the need for preservatives.<\/p>\n

The great innovation of micellar water was not the appearance of micelles\u2014which have existed for as long as water and cleansing agents have existed\u2014but turning them into a commercial category of their own.<\/p>\n

Micellar water did not invent micelles. It simply named them and bottled them.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, when we use a mild soap and rinse it off with water, we not only remove impurities from the skin, but also the cleansing agents themselves. A simple, effective, and respectful way to care for the skin.<\/p>\n

And, of course, much more economical. Because it does not seem reasonable to pay a premium price for something that can be prepared at the very moment of washing.<\/p>\n

And there is something else.<\/p>\n

If every mild soap generates micelles when it comes into contact with water, then each of our soaps creates its own micellar solution during washing.<\/p>\n

That is why we have never offered micellar water. Because, in essence, we have had it for years already: water, mild soaps, and rinsing.<\/p>\n
