The difference is in the light: why natural cosmetics have life

Plants photosynthesize. That is, they capture sunlight and transform it into life. That light becomes leaves, roots, flowers, essential oils. Each plant contains, inside, the trace of the light that nourished it.

When we use real plant ingredients—cold-pressed oils, pure extracts, hydrolates, resins—we are applying to the skin something that was born from light and formed by life. That subtle energy is not measured in the laboratory, but it is noticeable. The skin perceives it. And so does the wearer.

Moreover, in Ayurveda it is not just about using isolated plants, but about wisely combining their qualities to create a synergistic effect. The formula is just as important as the ingredient. And when plants are mixed with knowledge, their power is multiplied.

Laboratory cosmetics, on the other hand, work with artificially manufactured substances. It reproduces molecules that mimic certain effects of plants, but without their origin or history. There is no photosynthesis behind it. There is no light. There is technical efficiency, but there is no life.

That is the essential difference:
natural cosmetics contain the memory of light; synthetic cosmetics do not.
And when we take care of our skin, we are also choosing what kind of energy we want to nourish ourselves with.

At Jeevan Ayurveda we work with this conviction: only what is born from light can bring light back to the skin.
