Description

Kansa Bowl (an alloy of copper and tin in specific proportions).

“Kansa” means bronze in Sanskrit, and “Vakti” means bowl.

The Kansa Vakti Bowl is the traditional Ayurvedic bowl used for detoxifying massage treatments on the feet and abdomen. This metal alloy is considered in Ayurveda to be a healing and purifying metal.

Kansa Vakti Massage has the following benefits:

  • Helps eliminate toxins from the body.
  • Absorbs heat and reduces body inflammation.
  • Has an alkalizing effect on the body.
  • Relaxes and reduces stress and fatigue.
  • Relieves heavy legs and relaxes tired legs.
  • Improves insomnia and sleep imbalances.
  • Improves blood circulation.
  • Tones the liver, spleen, and lymphatic system.
  • Reduces fluid retention.
  • Improves the flow of prana and immunity.
  • Enhances Agni.

Natural options for cleaning Kansa metal:

Between uses and for daily maintenance, the following is sufficient:

  • Warm water
  • Mild soap (ours are suitable)
  • Soft cloth
  • Complete drying

For a deeper cleaning and to restore its shine, there are several options:

1. Lemon and Baking Soda

One of the simplest methods.

  • Mix a few drops of lemon juice with baking soda until it forms a paste.
  • Gently rub the Kansa with a cotton cloth or a soft sponge.
  • Leave it on for 1–2 minutes.
  • Rinse with warm water.
  • Dry thoroughly immediately.

The lemon dissolves oxidation and the baking soda polishes without scratching.

2. Flour, Salt, and Vinegar

Traditional method.

  • Mix: 1 tablespoon of flour + 1 tablespoon of fine salt + a little white vinegar.
  • Form a paste.
  • Apply to the metal and leave for a few minutes.
  • Rub gently and rinse.

This leaves a very beautiful warm shine.

3. Baking Soda

  • Slightly moisten the Kansa.
  • Sprinkle baking soda on it.
  • Rub with a cotton cloth or soft sponge using circular movements.
  • Rinse with warm water.
  • Dry thoroughly immediately.

IMPORTANT:

  • Do not leave the Kansa wet.
  • Avoid dishwashers or harsh chemical products.
  • Do not use metal scouring pads.
  • Store it in its cotton bag.

Minimum time of use to obtain all its benefits: 20 to 25 minutes per foot.

How to use:
The first step is to wash the feet.
Oil is applied to the feet and lower leg. If the objective is detoxification, the oil used is “Rice & Neem. Pure cleansing oil”.
Special emphasis is placed on the marma points of the feet.
The massage is done with the Kansa Vakti.

Blackened feet effect:
When massaging with the Kansa Vakti it is relatively common that the soles of the feet become blackened and/or the oil turns greyish. The more toxins are expelled, the more greyish-black the feet become. This colouring means that the toxins are being extracted from the body, and the skin purified.

After the massage, carefully wash the feet. Dry with a clean towel.
Apply oil or body cream.

Cleaning the bowl: Baking soda is perfect for cleaning the bronze. Wet a cotton cloth with warm water and add a teaspoon of baking soda. Rub the bowl. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a 100% cotton cloth. Store away from air, especially sea breezes.
